Sot bëhen 100 vjet nga krijimi i Shkollës Tregtare Vlorë.
Shkolla Tregtare u çel “në Ujë të Ftohtë në Vlorë, më 8 nëntor 1924. Qeveria e Fan Nolit e subvencionoi shkollën me 20 mijë franga ari, por ndihmesën më të madhe e dha Bashkia, në krye të së cilës qëndronte patrioti Qazim Kokoshi. Ndërsa pjesën tjetër të financimit e vuri paria e Vlorës dhe kryesisht Oda e Tregtisë Vlorë. (Aristidh Ruci, Pandeli Bezhani, Xhemil bej Vlora, Muço Sharra, Mehmet Isai, Musa Jonuzi, Mateo Matathia, Sheref Dano, Shahin Haruni, Kristo Karbunara, Shyqyri Radhima, Ali Çakërri, Ibrahim Shyti, Toli Kedhi dhe Rafo Jakoel.)
Drejtori i parë i shkollës ka qenë Isuf Puka “Mësues i Popullit”, dhe vite më pas Naum Stralla nga Korça (1903 – 1972), i cili kreu studimet e larta për inxhinieri kimike në Athinë dhe më 1931 u emërua drejtor i Institutit Tregtar Mbretëror (kështu quhej atëherë Shkolla Tregtare në Vlorë). Në këtë shkollë kanë dhënë mësim Stavro Skëndi nga Korça (1906- 1989) historian, etnolog, gjuhëtar, arsimuar në Stamboll, Zvicër e Gjemani; Skënder Luarasi nga Luarasi i Kolonjës (1900-1982), i biri i rilindasit të dritës shqiptare Petro Nini Luarasi, publicist, përkthyes, luftëtar antifashist, autor librash, veprimtar i arsimit dhe i shkollës shqipe, personalitet i shquar i kulturës shqiptare, arsimuar në Stamboll, SHBA dhe Austri; studimet e larta i përfundoi në Fakultetin e Filozofisë në Universitetin e Vjenës. Një tjetër emër i shquar që ka dhënë mësim në këtë shkollë është Ernest Koliqi nga Shkodra (1903 – 1975), shkrimtar, përkthyes, studiues i letërsisë, publicist, botues, arsimuar në Itali; studimet e larta i kreu për letërsi në Padova. Në shkollën Tregtare kanë dhënë gjithashtu mësim Leonidha Naçi, delegat i Vlorës në Kongresin e Manastirit 1909. Po ashtu patrioti Kolë Kamsi dhe Zihni Hamzaraj, firmëtar i Deklaratës së Pavarësisë dhe patriot i madh. Në atë shkollë gjatë atyre viteve kanë dhënë mësim profesorë të përgatitur në universitetet më të mira të botës, si Safet Butka, Llazaraq Eftimiadhi, Isuf Luzaj, etj.
Traditat atdhetare të qytetit historik të Vlorës, ku ishin ende të freskëta ngjarjet madhore të vitit 1912 dhe fitorja e vitit 1920, ndikuan shumë për të ushqyer në një shkallë më të lartë frymën përparimtare të nxënësve. Gjatë periudhës së pushtimit fashist të vendit, nxënësit e Shkollës Tregtare sabotuan masat për fashistizimin e shkollës.
Në ditën e pushtimit Italian të Shqipërisë nxënësit dhe mësuesit e Shkollës Tregtare do t’i prisnin pushtuesit me demonstratë dhe me armë në dorë. Madje, një nga profesorët e kësaj shkolle, Isuf Luzaj bashkë me 12 studentë të tij do të internoheshin në ishujt famëkeqë të Italisë.
Në bankat e Shkollës Tregtare kanë studiuar dhe 229 nxënës e nxënëse që u radhitën në formacionet e Ushtrisë Nacional-Çlirimtare, ndër ta shkrimtarët Petro Marko, Shevqet Musaraj, Andrea Varfi, Aleks Çaçi, Fatos Arapi, etj.
45 prej tyre ranë dëshmorë për lirinë e Atdheut e u përjetësuan si 45 yje e pashuar, ndër ta dhe Heronj të Popullit: Kastriot Muço (1923-1943), Bajram Tushi (1924-1942), Hajredin Bylyshi (1920-1942), Shyqyri Alimerko (1923-1943), Maliq Muço (1921-1944).
Veçanërisht gjurmë të pashlyeshme në historinë e kësaj shkollë kanë lënë patrioti i madh, Bego Gjonzeneli dhe Isuf Luzaj! Emrat e tyre janë gdhendur në faqet e këtij instucioni të rëndësishëm profesional dhe dritërojnë me dinjitet si yje lirie…
Shkolla Tregtare është mbyllur në 22 maj 1943 nga pushtuesit fashistë.
Sot 100 vite pas hapjes dhe 81 vite pas mbylljes së parë prej fashistëve tentohet mbyllja e dytë, prej atyre që mendojnë se çdo natë e çdo ditë mund të shqyejnë si të babëzitur copa Shqipërie.
Shkolla Tregtare është simbol i një qyteti që historikisht ka vendosur fatet e Shqipërisë. Dhe kur zhduk simbolet ke gërryer themelet dhe ke rrëzuar kolonat që mbajnë në këmbë kombin tonë.
Mënyra e mefshtë se si po ndodh e gjithë kjo nuk lajmëron gjëra të mira.
Shkolla tregtare nuk duhet të prishet sepse është simbol i qytetit, është pjesë e historisë së ndritur të qytetit, është pjesë e panteonit të arsimit në Shqipëri.
Vetëm pushtuesit dhe barbarët shkatërrojnë kulturën, shkollat dhe teatrot; vetëm pushtuesit vrasin kujtesën dhe zhdukin simbolet për të ndërtuar kulla prej betoni.
